Preschool Graduation, 2012

This preschool graduation was pretty bittersweet for me. I taught Presley for two years...a super senior if you will. :) I had a hard time when I realized that I wouldn't be her teacher anymore after this year. We had so many fun times-and so many hard times. (If you know Presley, you may know she is extremely stubborn...and strong willed...which I hope I will somehow be able to harness in the right direction!) It was a great night with my little friends. And with Presley. She sang her little heart out and did a wonderful job. Now a little break before I start another year all over again.

With her sweet daddy who loves her to pieces!
Kisses!
All Dolled up!
What a little beauty!
Before it started...all business and probably some nerves involved too!
Presley isn't the best public speaker...but she promised me she'd lead the pledge.
she didn't come through...but at least she held the flag!
I love this picture-so embarrassed!

Receiving a hug and bubbles from mom.
Best Little Friends (with chocolate chips in their teeth.)

Love my little graduate!!
And my baby-not such a baby anymore!  :)  Love my little Pipes.

So behind...

I am one of those people.  The ones who haven't updated their blog for months.  It's not like me...usually I'm pretty on top of it.  Not this time!
This upcoming week is a doozy.  (I won't even start on the last month..out of town dance competitions four weekends in a row)
In the next ten days I have:
6 sessions of preschool, (two being field trips), regular dance day, piano, 2 dress rehearsals, 3 dance recitals, oh wait-make that 4...one on Monday night too and preschool graduation.   Not to mention regular life.  It's going to be fun!
So-here's hoping I'll be able to catch up on our life soon.  In the meantime..here's a pic-because let's face it.  A post without a picture isn't very much fun at all.  Piper pretty much sums up how I'm feeling this week.  Plus-everyone does love a blue eyed girl....

Just DANCE...

In scrolling through some previously un-blogged pictures, I came across this set today.  These were taken at the beginning of December at the kids' winter recital.  This year, four of our five kids are dancing. Even Landon...he's doing a boys Hip Hop/tumbling class taught by Ashley and he LOVES it. Of course, I wasn't organized enough to get a picture of everyone in their costumes, but at least I got one of all of the four dancers together. As you can see, it took a few tries...(still not a PERFECT one...but that doesn't happen very often anyway.....)

Parker and Landon.  Landon's dance was "hard knock life" which is why he has a dirty face.
Presley gets so shy!  This is her "I'm really trying NOT to smile face..."
Then" I'll just look away...maybe if I'm not looking I can smile..."
Oh good, she's finally looking!  Oh what?  Pacie closed her eyes?  Sigh.  Like i said.  No such thing as a "perfect" picture!
Landon had an 8 count of free-style in his dance.  Here are a couple of his moves.  The worm in action..
and again...wormin' it up.
The classic "sprinkler".
Not to be outdone, Piper jumped into the picture.  Rosy little cheeks are her signature trademark.
I love Infinity!  It has instilled such a wonderful work ethic and confidence in my older girls.  This is Presley's second year dancing and she loves it as well.  I am sure Piper will join the ranks next fall, when she's 3.  (Yikes!)  Competition season is just around the corner.  All of the hard work comes to fruition then!  We absolutely LOVE watching our kids on stage.  And as Parker and Pacie are maturing into older, more accomplished dancers, I can say there are moments where they literally take our breath away.  It is something amazing as a parent to watch your children find and develop their talents.  Somehow dance seems to be something that they are all skilled (and interested) in.  So, dance on kids.  We'll keep watching and supporting and loving you through it all.

"Double Digits, Baby!"

Parker's birthday was the last week of January. The 26th to be exact. And from Christmas until her big day, we'd hear, "double digits, baby!" at least once a day. Yep, Parker turned the big 1-0 this year. Hard to believe our baby is TEN!

Homemade pizzas the night before-That's what she wanted to do for her birthday dinner.
Matt & Ashley gave her this darling outfit from Aeropostale...She was thrilled as you can see!
She designed her very own cake-the colors and concept and left the rest up to me.
Grandma L. gave her this darling fuzzy shirt and scarf.
Mamie and Gramps gave her this cute Naartjie outfit.
Singing Happy Birthday...
Blow out those candles!!
Her gifts from everyone...
Her main gift from us was to go to a dance workshop in Utah called Odyssey.  It was two days of dancing with amazing (AH-MAY-ZING!) instructors.  Her two favorites were previous contestants from "So you think you can dance".
Here she is with the Jazzerettes...and GEV!
Parker and Gev-striking a pose...
Birthday dinner at Red Robin with Grandma and Grandpa Taft...that mud pie looks pretty yummy!
Just a cute shot of Presley...:)
Parker with Tadd.  Amazing instructor-and dancer!
Parker-you are a beautiful girl-both inside and out.  We are so blessed that you came into our family first.  You set such an amazing example for your siblings.  You are full of goodness and light.  You are very talented in so many areas and we hope that you'll continue to excel in all that you do.
Happy 10th Birthday, our sweet girl.  WE LOVE YOU!!
