Fields of Gold

This past week, I mentioned to Ashley that I wanted to take the kids pictures in the wheat before it was cut down.  We were going to go on Sunday, but it was a blustery, rainy day.  She called me on Monday and said she was coming to do it for me at around 5:00.  It literally took her about 20 minutes to take these amazing photos of my kids.  I LOVE them, and can't wait to get a big canvas made of the last one. Thanks, Ash!  You did such an AMAZING job!!

These are just a few of my favorites-there are even more to choose from!

Sacrifice Brings Blessings

Today has been an amazing day for our family.
This morning we met with the Stake Presidency and Scott was issued the call to be the second councilor in the new Osgood bishopric.  We were both very humbled by the call.
I just wanted to tell Scott how much I love him and how proud I am of him.  He is a wonderful husband, father and patriarch in our home.  I know he will do a wonderful job and will learn and grow during his service.  I am thankful for his willingness to serve and for the example that he sets for our family and for others.
I know that it may be a challenge at first, having all 5 kids to myself in Sacrament meeting-but I also know that I am up for the challenge and am looking forward to the blessings that will come as Scott sacrifices to serve.
I love you, Scott.

So Happy!

For these two!  Matt and Ashley got engaged tonight in Rexburg.  Scott and I were able to help out Matt getting the scene set up and it was so fun being a part of such a special night.

They have been dating for 2+ years and in that time we have all grown to love her so much.

So congrats you two!!  We couldn't be happier for both of you and know that you really are a perfect fit for each other.  Love ya!

All Smiles!

Our little Piper has finally learned the art of the smile.  And I have plenty of helpers here to encourage her!
Every time she starts to crack a smile, the girls say, "Mom! Get the camera!" because we've been trying to capture her cute smiles for a few days now.  Yesterday we caught a bunch!  And here are a few of my favorites.

*A disclaimer:  She is just getting over a virus so her face still has hints of a little rash.  But she is feeling much better so we are happy!!
Sweet Piper at 7 weeks.  Full of smiles and coos
and laughs-or chuckles as my girls call them!
We are all just so in love with this baby!!
Looking at Parker-
she is the best at making her smile!
Smiling at her sisters
Fat and Happy!

Smiling up at Daddy.  Not sure why she has a belly shirt on, other than the fact that the girls like to dress her in random and various outfits throughout the day.
We LOVE little Piper!!

I melt....

when I capture moments like this:
Or this:
Or this:
Yes, our baby is growing and getting chubby! I mean, just look at the double chin action going on.
Summer is flying by all too quickly. We are trying to enjoy every moment, yet all while preparing for the upcoming fall and the inevitable start of real life and structure again. Until then, we continue to stay up late, sleep as late as we can and play the days away.

Feeling good and just loving my life.

Little Darlin' is THREE!!

I can't believe it, but our little Presley turns 3 years old today. When she was born, our oldest three looked like this:

And Presley looked like this:
*I myself see glimpses of Piper there, but that is a post for another day.

Presley is SASSY. Of all of our kids I think her bag came packed with the most attitude. She doesn't walk. She marches. She knows what she wants and does it with purpose. She is the most strong willed of all of our children. She is also the most shy. She can be very reserved until you crack her shell-and then watch out! She is a little firecracker.

I look forward to channeling this SPUNK and SASS into a positive place. She has a great sense of humor and has learned how to tease her siblings.

Of all of our children, Presley also has the most nicknames.
Little Darlin' ooh. (Now just Darlin'. Most of the time she refers to herself as Darlin' instead of Presley!)
Bop, Boppy, Shoo-Bop (All interchangeable)
Shoo-Bee, Shoobs (Both Variations of the above)
Here she is at one:
And at two:
And at three:
And Presley is definitely NOT the baby of the family anymore. Just look at her next to Piper!
Presley, we all love you so much and are so thankful that you are in our family! I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Even if you did eat a raw hotdog for breakfast.
