"Double Digits, Baby!"

Parker's birthday was the last week of January. The 26th to be exact. And from Christmas until her big day, we'd hear, "double digits, baby!" at least once a day. Yep, Parker turned the big 1-0 this year. Hard to believe our baby is TEN!

Homemade pizzas the night before-That's what she wanted to do for her birthday dinner.
Matt & Ashley gave her this darling outfit from Aeropostale...She was thrilled as you can see!
She designed her very own cake-the colors and concept and left the rest up to me.
Grandma L. gave her this darling fuzzy shirt and scarf.
Mamie and Gramps gave her this cute Naartjie outfit.
Singing Happy Birthday...
Blow out those candles!!
Her gifts from everyone...
Her main gift from us was to go to a dance workshop in Utah called Odyssey.  It was two days of dancing with amazing (AH-MAY-ZING!) instructors.  Her two favorites were previous contestants from "So you think you can dance".
Here she is with the Jazzerettes...and GEV!
Parker and Gev-striking a pose...
Birthday dinner at Red Robin with Grandma and Grandpa Taft...that mud pie looks pretty yummy!
Just a cute shot of Presley...:)
Parker with Tadd.  Amazing instructor-and dancer!
Parker-you are a beautiful girl-both inside and out.  We are so blessed that you came into our family first.  You set such an amazing example for your siblings.  You are full of goodness and light.  You are very talented in so many areas and we hope that you'll continue to excel in all that you do.
Happy 10th Birthday, our sweet girl.  WE LOVE YOU!!

A hair experiment....

Just before Christmas, my sister in law, Ashley, sent me a link to a website about creating "Bantu knots". I was intrigued, what with having 4 girls and all. So the night before New Year's Eve day, we set the three girls who actually have enough hair to do-into these knots. It suggested using a wax or gel to set the curl. I think I used a bit too much because Pacie's hair (who it actually looked the best on) looked a little like dreds when we were finished. It took a couple of days for the curl to relax as well, but overall, it was a fun experiement. I would do it a little differently next time...not do such small knots to hopefully make a larger curl. I kinda like the look of just the knots themselves too. Kinda funky. Here is the process in pictures.

I didn't take pictures right after either-which I should've.  These are a little later-but you still see the gist.  Pretty, right?

It's what big sisters do....

The other day while I was doing laundry and cleaning, Presley and Piper snuggled on my bed to play some I-pod and probably watch Tangled. Piper could watch it on repeat reel. Over and over and over. The next thing I knew, Piper had melted into Presley and she was holding her, rubbing her sweet head. I said, "Presley, you're such a good big sister.". Her reply, "Mom, it's what big sisters do." I hope you do it forever, Presley. Watch over and protect and care for little Piper. How I love my girls!!
