When my sister called a year ago to ask if I would be up for running Ragnar this year, it sounded like a really good idea! As it crept closer and closer, I realized that while it the idea still sounded good, the reality was something very different. I was nervous-to say the least!! Really, running from Logan to Park City? But-having done my half marathon last summer, I thought, if I could do that, I can do this. And I did. 19.4 miles over 36 hours.
Would I do it again?
In a HEARTBEAT.
Our sponsor was Phil from the Cache Valley pharmacy. We wanted to come up with a clever name for our team. After much deliberation and many vetoed options, we came up with "Philin' Groovy..thanks to Cache Valley Pharmacy". Our theme was all about peace and love, baby! Lots of peace signs, tie dye, and everything flowers and love.
What an amazing journey we had.
The van consisted of myself, Rachel, Tyler, Ashley, my Dad and our friend, Jenny. We laughed, I cried...and we all (as Presley would say) "ran our guts out."
Thanks to my family for supporting me-Scott holding down the fort while I was away. My sisters, brother, dad and friend truly made it an unforgettable experience. And I really hope I get to do it again. Even if I keep losing my toenails....seriously. WHY?
